When We Arrive As Flowers

‘When We Arrive As Flowers’ is a short film that represents how the talented dancer and poet, Diovanna Óbàfunmílayo, perceived her own transition journey.

The film provides a metaphor of her transfemme identity as a seed, existing long before she was born. The story of how the seed grows and blooms as a part of her is shown through her dancing, accompanied by animated illustrations.

Each aspect of the film — the art, the music, the poetry and the dance, come together to perfectly express what it feels like to finally show yourself the person you have always been.
